The Ancient Inca Town Named Huayna Picchu

چکیده

This paper assesses the original name of Inca settlement now known as Machu Picchu. We examine three data sources: field notes Hiram Bingham, toponyms on nineteenth century maps, and information recorded in seventeenth documents. The results uniformly suggest that city was originally called Picchu, or more likely Huayna Picchu became associated with ruins starting 1911 Bingham’s publications.Este documento evalúa el nombre de la ciudad inca ahora conocida como Examinamos tres fuentes datos: las notas topónimos en mapas del siglo XIX, e información registrada documentos XVII.
